CD Review by Mel Hague The Kentucky Riders are a seven-piece band from Norway and this album is the best non-American CD I've heard this year and with 14 tracks through almost 50 minutes it's another good value for money item. Anett Selfjord who handles most of the lead vocals is really a cracking chanter and as good a modern country voice as I've heard in years and that includes both sides of the Atlantic. I would also like to add that her English is spot on as is her diction so you would never know she was from Norway; she could be English or American. One of the guys shares some lead vocals but I was unable to work out who he was because 3 of the guys sing but whoever he is, he is a good match for Anett so you have great vocals throughout the album. The really good vocals are supported by some first class music from the band; I bet the Kentucky Riders are a great band to see live as they put it together with great taste and solid punch. The production is excellent, bright and clear as a new penny so keep your eyes open for albums recorded at the Panser Studio because you'll be guaranteed to hear some terrific music. This album would go over great with the
listeners but there's bags of stomp for the dancers. If I were going to
go into a studio to record a new album I would be more than happy to record
at the Panser Studios with the Kentucky Riders providing the music and
the backing vocals. I've played this CD 3 or 4 times and I don't do that
very often. Dagbladets Øyvind Rønning skriver 2. september 2003:
